Dov Davidoff grew up in a junkyard, lost his virginity at the age of 12 to a prostitute in Mexico and is incredibly funny (all true). Combining hyper ADD with an amusingly acute take on everyday occurrences, Davidoff puts on one of the most high intensity shows in stand-up, connecting with audiences in a way that makes him a favorite in front of live audiences around the country.
Currently, with his hour special "Filthy Operation" premiering on Comedy Central, there is no doubt that Davidoff has established himself as one of the MUST-SEE stand-ups on the comedy scene today.
Davidoff started in stand-up when a friend/co-worker, who was interested in doing stand-up, dragged him along to a club. Davidoff wound up being funnier. It was at that point he decided he might be talented and should pursue this career. His early influences include George Carlin and Richard Pryor. Davidoff is a thinker who likes to dissect the irony and problems of the world, while making the unfunny funny. He has a wonderful ability to find common ground with EVERYONE in a way that not only makes people think and look at themselves, but laugh hysterically while doing so.
Voted "Top Ten Comedy Albums of 08" on iTunes and Punchline magazine his CD, "The Point Is..." released on Comedy Central Records, proves exactly how popular he has become. Recorded live at the Comedy Works in Denver, CO, the set captures this kinetic master at his best. The live CD covers a variety of topics including segments titled "Starbucks," "Guy in the Garbage Can," "Necrophiliac," "Mood Lighting" and "Ray Charles," among others.
In addition to performing regularly in clubs and colleges throughout the country, Davidoff was named as one of Variety's "10 Comics to Watch." He has starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in the film "Invincible," has guest starred in a number of TV shows including "Boston Legal," "Law & Order" and "Third Watch." Most notably, he co-starred with Jeff Goldblum in the NBC drama "Raines." Davidoff is a regular on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Last Call with Carson Daly." He is also a regular fixture on Comedy Central, starring in his own half-hour "Comedy Central Presents" special, as well as appearing on "Chappelle's Show," "Premium Blend" and "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." He is a favorite at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has been featured twice at HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, in addition to winning numerous comedy competitions.
When Davidoff is not on stage, you may catch him shadow-boxing. A huge fan of the UFC, he has started boxing and has stuck with training and MMA fighting.
