Mario DiGiorgio Biography

Spilling over with subtlety and crafty analogies, Mario's sly wit will sneak up and slug you in the gut. Armed with a sharp mind and a lifelong penchant for comedy, this New Jersey native's material has been fresh and punchy since the first time he picked up a microphone. So natural was Mario's adaptation to stand-up, that he secured the title of the nationally-recognized, annual Funniest Person in Austin contest in Texas a mere eight months after taking the stage. He followed up by becoming a finalist in the HBO/Aspen Open Call for Stand-Up; was a finalist in Comedy Central's Laugh Riots competition and was also a featured performer at 2005's Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.

Mario's ambition and tenacity are equally remarkable. He recently sold a short screenplay to Scott Rudin Productions; self-published the dark yet laugh-out-loud Cynic's Guide to a Rich and Full Life; and founded his own sardonic and iconic t-shirt company, bignoselittledog.com.

Today, Mario resides in Austin, Texas and tours the country with an ever-swelling catalogue of smart, inventive material. Sarcastic yet somehow sweet, cerebral without condescension, Mario DiGiorgio is fast carving his niche in comedy's well-worn headboard.
